“I see the Duet Endowment Trust solely as a financial support for the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and for Cape Town Opera because their present sources of income are so unreliable.”
WENDY ACKERMAN, FOUNDING TRUSTEE
The Duet Endowment Trust, launched in August 2014, aims to build a fund, grow the capital and ensure there is sufficient income to provide on-going injections of money to its joint beneficiaries the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and Cape Town Opera.
The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and Cape Town Opera are a vital part of the cultural life of Cape Town and make an important contribution to the cultural heritage of South Africa. Both companies deliver world-class performances, attract leading South African and international artists of our time, and contribute to Cape Town’s international status and appeal.
To ensure great musical art is created the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and Cape Town Opera have always needed the support of generous patrons with vision. Today more than ever such support is needed to ensure the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and Cape Town Opera perform for generations to come.
